Oh it’s been a while.

It’s not that I’ve forgotten about blogging. It just got to the point where I was posting pictures and memes because I was so busy. It wasn’t satisfying to me any longer.

Then I’d get online and imagine posting something on here and it was just too much effort, when in reality I feel it’s been eating me alive not being able to write down how things are going.

This summer I’m starting my Social Media kickoff. Twitter, Tumblr, Wordpress, and Facebook, are things I’ve never spent a lot of time on, because I always had so much to do. Yet here I am in school to become a graphic designer/social marketing guru and I just don’t put in enough time getting my ideas out there.

Here’s a short list of things that have gone on in the past few months:

Evie turned four! (My daughter)

Michael and I moved into a beautiful apartment together! (My boyfriend)

I’ve started back up with school, if you didn’t read the above.

Still working in the library, trying to worm my way to either more hours or more pay.

I’ve started a wedding photography internship, while also launching my own photography business.

I recently had a birthday myself. (May the fourth be with you)

I fell in love with NYC, it killed me to leave after my short stay.

Alright enough with the updates, that’s really all you need to know about my life in the past few months.

In the nineteenth century, a morbid and curious custom has spread to various parts of the world: the photos were ”Post Mortem”.
”Post Mortem” comes from Latin, meaning after death.

The photos ”Post Mortem” apparently originated in England, when Queen Victoria asked to photograph the corpse of an acquaintance or a relative, so she can keep as a souvenir.
soon after, this idea spread around the world, keeping a morbid reminder of loved ones that have passed on.

Even today, as strange as it may seem, some places still have this custom.

The girl who is standing in the photo is the one who is dead. This is a classic example of photographic art. Notice the hands.

For people wondering how the corpse is standing up, there is a posing stand supporting the body it’s very hard to see but the stand is supporting the neck, arms and back.

the girl in this picture has her eyes open, but in some cases the photographer will paint pupils on the eye lids to make it seem like they are wide awake.

I always enjoyed this part of photography’s history. It’s morbid, and disturbing but I can understand why people did it. As crazy as that sounds.

It’s been so long since my last update.

This update needed to be about someone very special to me, so I feel it’s time to get a little mushy.

You’ve been warned.

I’ve been watching a romcom over and over lately and it’s let me see a lot of myself in the main character.

She’s been heartbroken, uprooted, but ever hopeful to find the one for her even though she swears off men/relationships.

Yet through the entire movie she sets herself up to believe that she wouldn’t be good enough, she’d just be a chapter instead of a whole book.

I feel so very like this character, constantly having to remind myself that a chapter can be a whole book.

With that said I have to praise my other half at the moment, and hopefully for a long time.

I have never met anyone as kind, patient, and understanding as my love.

He’s the white rabbit that leads me through wonderland, when things get rough which luckily isn’t as often as I’ve experienced in most of my previous relationships, he listens and we work on it.

I cannot imagine my life being any better without him, and I wouldn’t want it to be. For the first time I’m with someone in which we can both grow and can encourage and remind each other how to be better, not only to each other but to ourselves.

I often asked myself when we first started dating if this was “it”, and as of late all I keep thinking is “I really really hope so.”

I don’t want to be any more overwhelming that I have been in this post so please forgive me but I just had to share.
